This week in Literacy we have looked at when to use a or an.

Can you remember the rule for when to use which one?

Below are a list of sentences. It is your job to type or write these sentences out in full and complete them by either using a or an.

Stories of mystery and suspense!

 


Have a look at the settings above and imagine you are there. Write the introduction to a mystery story, using between 50 and 100 words. Think about describing the SENSES in your opening. What could you see, hear, smell? What did you touch and how did you feel?

Literacy Homework

Next week we will be writing a letter to Buckingham Palace to ask questions about Queen Elizabeth II and life at the palace. Therefore your task this week is to do some research into Buckingham Palace and come up with five pieces of information or questions that you might want to include in your letter. Please do not write the letter. We will be doing this in class.

Example questions are shown below:

1. Who built Buckingham Palace?

2. How many bedrooms are there?

3. What is Queen Elizabeth II favourite room?

We will be using this information in lessons so you may find it easier to print out your blog post as well. 

Therefore although due on Friday - the sooner you can do it the better!

This means you can have it with you at your desk while you are writing.
