Homework due Friday 8th December

Legendary Tales!

Your homework this week is to use the story map to write the legend of Saint George and the Dragon. You don’t need to write it word for word- use what you remember from the story. Can you include description of the hero, villain and setting? Can you include some adverbials to describe when, where or how something happened? Eg, ‘Early one morning’, ‘At the top of the hill..’ ‘Maliciously,…’.

Early one morning a strapping St George was heading to Libya. he saw a colossal pond shimmering like solver. Then along came a ferocious dragon. The demonic dragon started terrorising the hot and balmy country. Every day people feed the dragon leftovers. Suddenly and maliciously the dragon started eating the villagers, when there was no food people started running away from the dragon. The dragon captured the princes of Egypt and was going to eat her unless the brave and fearless St George could defeat the terrifying beast. The king of Egypt promised his daughters hand in marriage. 2. Early one morning, the brave and strapping Saint George set off towards Libya.Once he had arrived he found a colossal pond sparkling like silver, where a ferocious dragon lived. The demonic dragon was terrorising the hot and balmy country.Everyone fed leftover food to the dragon so it won't maliciously eat them.If the food ran out the Dragon would chase the people and gobble them up.However, the dragon had caught the divine princess of Egypt to gobble up unless a brave and fearless knight would come and save her from the beast. The king of Egypt had promised his daughter's hand in marriage that a noble knight would miraculously overtake the viscous dragon.Determined,Saint George bravely got onto his horse to the pond to save the princess. When he arrived he found the princess waiting to be eaten,Saint George freed the princess and sent her back home to her plush and elegant palace. The dragon could hear Saint George's horse footsteps approaching .The dragon roared menacingly . Saint George was not afraid. He struck his spear but the dragon's scales were as hard as diamonds and the spear broke in half.Saint George did not give up,instead he slayed the dragon with his sword under the dragon's wing where there were no spiky scales.Limply, fell to the ground with a thump.Saint George was rewarded the princess's hand in marriage.

When all the food ran out, the dragon chased the people, trying to gobble them up. However, the dragon caught the divine princess of Egypt for his dinner unless a brave and fearless knight would slay the terrifying beast. The king of Egypt promised his daughter’s hand in marriage to the noble knight who miraculously kills the dragon.

Feeling determined, St George bravely set out towards the lake to save the princess. When he arrived, he found her waiting to be fed to the dragon. St George sent the princess home to her plush and elegant palace. He approached the dragon’s dark and gloomy cave…
The dragon heard St George’s horse approaching his cave. He roared menacingly! St George wasn’t afraid. He struck the beast with his spear but his scales were as hard as rock, so the spear broke in half.

Shockingly, St George fell from his horse but wouldn’t give up. Instead, he rushed at the dragon and slayed it under his wing with his sword, where there were no scales. Limply, the dragon fell to a thump and St George got the princess’ hand in marriage!
