Super-Star Suspense
For homework this week, I would like you to post six super sentences
containing suspense onto our blog.
When writing your sentences, remember to include the following
techniques used in class:
§ Short sentences to
build up tension
§ Ellipsis (…) to
create the ‘what happens next?’ moment
§ SHOW how the character
felt (His heart pounded, sweat poured from his face.)
§ Similes
§ Dramatic sentence
starters (At that moment.....)
§ Use the senses to
describe, particularly SOUNDS!

Alternatively, you may wish to create suspense sentences about a
completely different adventure! I'm already looking forward to reading
your work.
Hetty looked around crouching down had he gone? No time to waste-Hetty ran down the hallway searching for something as she went.She meet a stranger and he whispered, "Have you got it?"' Not yet Hetty said worried. Rapidly, Hetty ran past the stranger. Suddenly, she stopped!
ReplyDeleteTom was sweating all over his face.He got scared that something was creeping close to him.His heart thumped as if a hammer was hitting him.He looked up.At that moment, he saw crimson red eyes and dark,dusty fur sticking out of it's body.It's eyes were gleaming right at Tom.It let out a howl that sounded like thunder.What will happen to Tom now?The animal got closer and closer to him.His heart was beating faster than ever!He tried to run away but he was to scared to move.Cautiously,he moved a step backwards.The animal came so close he could do nothing about it.He tried to push the animal away but he knew it would snap him with it's sharp,shiny jaw.After some time he saw that the animal moved a step to the side.Then there was a place to escape.Tom ran around the animal and ducked behind a door.He was safe...for now.

Suddenly... a witch appeared on the black sky waiting for a dragon to come what do you think happens next ? Well the dragon came and flew in the shimmering moon on the witches broomstick. they flew and arrived in a gloomy house i looked in the window and heard the witch say a spell . `ghosts and death go to the story that will begin` . I was terrified but i dd not know what it meant? But i remembered the play that is new in the theatre . I wonder what happens next?

Bob was in Antarctica and it was very snowy,windy and cold he saw a white thing and it was going towards him and it went closer and closer it was scaring him.when it went closer and closer he still didn't know what it was.When he finally noticed it was a .... Polar bear!!!!Bob screamed and found a dark and damp cave he swiftly went in there the polar bear was hunting for him and he still couldn't find him he had one little check and he still couldn't find him so he finally gave up and ran away to the edge of Antartica.

Are you here"?no answer.I called out again still no answer.I was hungry, I reached the fridge to open it. I heard a whisper saying noor......
Close.....them close.....your.....eyes.
I screamed. then looked behind me there was no one.
Then heard another whisper.but that one was louder.....I run upstairs as I could.but my sock's made me slip.
I fell down out.I got up fast.I run till I could reached my bed room door.I closed the door. But at that same moment the door bell rung,I was to scared I opened the door and saw that it was my mom.I hugged her very hard.I explain her the whole story at that moment. I saw on her eyes that she was worried ,while eating I heard the same whisper.I shivered.I tried to scream for help but something strange happened.I woke up and saw that all of that was a nightmare
And mom at the same time saying in a sleepy voice " close your eyes.
